Thanks a lot, Pain Boy.
In Great Gatsby, it’s evident and agreeable that it had a very
eerie and somber ending. The murder of Jay Gatsby to the suicide of Wilson, it rather had a unpleasant conclusion. What people overlook however, is what started all of this predicament. What if Jay Gatsby never changed his name from James Gatz? What if Dan Cody never offered him a job? The plot that would’ve emerged would’ve diverged into a way unbelievable different. What if Fitzgerald never fully explained who James Gatz was and his full undisclosed story? Well one thing that was for sure not told about was the brother James had: Jayden “Pain” Paik. One could say he possessed one of the most rebellious nature and disposition known to mankind. And in Minnesota, he was known as “Corny boy” for his unbelievablely childish like behavior and the worst of all, his inhumane stench. Whenever he was in a 100m radius with an individual, everyone knew it was Pain; he also brought pain to people’s noses. One time it was said that he damaged someone’s olfacory epithelium, making him unable to have a sense of smell. It was all Pain’s fault that Gatsby went down this horrible path. If Pain, as a big brother, was there for Gatsby, he wouldn’t have went down this horrid path which ultimately led to his death. The reason Pain wasn’t there for Gatsby was cause he had been sentenced to life in prison. The crime he committed was public indecency: dressing up in a maid costume for Halloween—this actually happened in 8th grade. So in other words, it’s all Pain’s fault for all the deaths and the relationships that were broken because of his indecency. So I guess we all have to thank Pain, for ruining families and lives. Thanks a lot Pain Boy.
LMAO that’s actually hilarious — it starts off sounding like a deep literary reflection and then just descends into chaos. The “olfactory epithelium” line and “Pain Boy” ending make it feel like a mock-serious parody of an English essay gone completely rogue. It’s like someone tried to psychoanalyze Gatsby and accidentally wrote fanfiction about his stinky brother.
ReplyDeleteDaniel I appreciate you and all but this blog infuriates me. This isn't even a fanfic - I'm just getting roasted half the time. I hope you know this ruined my day and that i won't be talking to you anymore.
ReplyDeleteWow. This take on Pain Boy and the maid costume brought tears to my eyes. I've never seen anyone so good at dancing as Pain Boy. This origin story of Gatsby brought in a new perspective that truly enlightened me.
